Arlington Parade of Lights Christmas Parade

Parades, Parades, Parades. The Arlington Parade of Lights Christmas Parade will take place on December 11, at 6:00 p.m. I will have the pleasure of riding in the parade with my little sister (Kafaniah Douglas & my little brother Kazziah Douglas (whom by the way is our designated Prince of the Parade). I will also share the ride with my LSP's and Sister Queens, so please come out and support us and see all the wonderful floats in the Arlington Christmas Parade downtown area.

Toys for Tots

Hi all, I will be in Mesquite Texas this morning December 11 (from 7 to 9 a.m.) participating in Toys for Tots drive with Fox 4 news. It is always a pleasure to put a smile on so many childrens' faces, Especially at this time of year. Toys for Tots drive will benefit many needy families that are unable to buy Christmas toys for their children, so this is one way we all can help out. GIVING AND DONATING. So please take a moment and drop off a small toy, this will sure brighten a child's day. Many Blessings to you.

Passing The Title of Miss Teen Ellis County

Hi all. It's that time again. I will be giving/passing on the Title of Miss Teen Ellis County to a beautiful, poised, intelligent, talented, young lady who has a commanding presence and passion for her platform as I. This will be both a sad and happy time. Sad because I am leaving a great organization with some of the best directors and board members in the organization, but happy because God has allowed me to gain the same exact new directors with the characteristics of Miss Sherry and Mr. Jim. (Who are irreplaceable) I will certainly miss them as my directors (my guardian angels). This event will take place on November 27, 2010 at the Garden Hilton Inn in Duncanville Texas at 7:00 p.m. Please don't miss it. Each contestant could use your support.

WHY? We can all wonder and ask the question, why did this terrible thing happen on Fort Hood, Texas? We can even make our own assumptions, but the truth to the matter is, we will never know. What we can do at this time is take the time to Honor and pray for our fallen heroes and their families. We can remember the great sacrifice that each one gave on that day (November 5, 2009). I was crowned Miss Teen Trinity River on this past Saturday September 18, 2010 in BenBrook Texas. I have the pleasure of having Mr. & Mrs. Dan & Shelli Bates for my new Directors. I am so excited to be one of their Title Holders. Please continue to support and pray for me as I continue on the quest for the title of Miss Teen Texas. Thank all of my supporters. I, Miss Teen Ellis County, Kafarra Douglas took overall 6th Place and Prelim Talent Winner at the Miss/Teen Texas Scholarship Pageant. God truly showed the gift that he gave me with my rendition of The Classic "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess. I am so thankful and grateful that God allowed me to touch so many lives and inspire so many little princesses. I am also encouraged to come back next year and continue to be the best me that I can be. Remember "princesses" Believe It and Achieve It. You can be anything you want to be just "Believe".

Come and join me, Miss Teen Ellis County, Kafarra Douglas, as I travel to Dallas VA Medical Center. I will be among many Teen title holders entertaining our Veterans. This will be a Pre-memorial Day Show on May 27th at 1:00 at the Dallas VA Medical Center. We would appreciate your support. After all, we are helpers one to another and we will try to bring as much joy to our veterans as we can. We will be entertaining with Ventriloquist, dancing, and my favorite (in song). Yes, I will be performing in song. So you don't want to miss it. Go ahead and become apart of brightening someone else's day. Let you light shine.

Capitol Day/Va Hospitals

Hello it's that time again. I am on the move again and this time I am on my way to the Capitol to visit Ellis County's State Representative, Jim Pitts and Ellis County's Senator, Kip Averitt. I will also be paying a visit to our veterans in the Waco and Temple VA Hospital. I will be signing autographs at the Waco VA Hospital on March 28th and then I will perform 2 songs in Temple at the VA Hospital. Many Miss and Teens will be on this trip and many are performing so don't miss out on this wonderful treat. I will arrive at the Capitol on March 29. Please come out and support us. It's time for the 2010 Little Miss Ellis County Pageant. This pageant will be Sunday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. The pageant will be held at the D. L. Hopkins, JR. Senior Center at 206 James Collins in Duncanville, TX 75138. Please come out and support the Little Miss Ellis County Pageant. Our very own Miss Ellis County 2010, Allison Seward will be there as well as myself. We both will be performing our talent so please do not miss this terrific event. Oh My! It's already March and I have so much to do. I invite you all to come to the Haltom City Area (in Dallas) on March 6. I will be helping with a DENIM & DIAMOND (Fundraiser). Shilah Phillips became the First African American Miss Texas on July 8, 2006. She finished as first runner up in the 2007 Miss America Pageant .

Cont. Black History Celebration

Vanessa Williams became the 56th Miss America and the first African American woman to be chosen to represent the title. Suzette Charles, 2nd African American Miss America and Caressa Cameron became the 3rd African American woman to win the Title of Miss America.

Celebrating Black History Month

Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009. He is the first African American to hold the office and he is the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner. He is not only a Great Role Model for African Americans, he is a Great Role Model to everyone. He has the "Yes We Can" attitude.

Hello everyone. It is my honor to be visiting the Dallas VA Hospital on February 12. I hold the Veterans dear to my heart, being the daughter of 2 parents who both served in the United States Army and both served in Desert Storm and my Father serving in Iraq and getting ready to retire this month. I am so grateful for all the dedication, love, and support for my family protecting not only our family but this great country that I call home.
